Mindfulness Meditation

Courses, Classes & Mentoring

These practices allow us to reconnect, to find a deeper awareness, and bring greater acceptance to ourselves. Through this process, we may reduce stress, move from reaction to response, and release from doing into being. Over time, we find insight and wisdom, and these practices ripple out into all areas of life.

Mindfulness courses Private

Private Course, Just for You

We meet online, once a week, for 6 weeks, either following an established curriculum or a course tailored to you. We spend an hour or so together each week. Allow an hour and a quarter for each session. If you’re at the beginning of your journey, this is a great place to start. Receiving personal tuition and guidance, allowing you to focus on areas of most importance to you. This 6 week course costs £225.

As an extra option, you may add an extended practice session, which is similar to the retreat offered as part of curriculum-based courses. This can be after week 4 of your course or after the course is complete. The cost depends on the length of the session, which can be tailored to you.

And once you reach the end of the course, we can continue to work together if you choose to, developing your practice. These sessions are as and when you choose, weekly, monthly, or just when you need to reconnect.

More information…

Mindfulness is being in the moment (or being present) and knowing what’s happening while it’s happening.  Bringing non-judgemental awareness to the present moment.  So, we can be mindful in all aspects of our lives.  Meditation is sometimes described as a deeper contemplation. Mindful awareness is our base.

Research has found many benefits of attending courses and classes, and we’ve listed a few below.

  • Reducing stress and anxiety
  • Improving focus and concentration
  • Managing anger
  • Teaching us to respond rather than to react
  • Managing pain
  • Improving communication
  • Creating feelings of calm and relaxation

During your class you will be gently guided through various mindfulness and meditation practices.  These may include working with the breath, sound, colour, visualisations, bodyscans, mindful movement and meta as a few examples.

We quietly sit, lie, or stand during the exercises., These positions can be modified to suit you.  And in between the exercises, there is the opportunity for discussion, sharing, and questions.  Please contribute as much or as little as feels right for you.

You may only need a chair. However, you are very welcome to bring a drink or a blanket with you if you wish.  If you use a meditation stool, cushion or mat, please do have them available to you so that you are comfortable.  You can either sit in a chair or on a meditation cushion on the floor during our sessions.  Sometimes we will do an exercise lying down on mats and if you don’t have a mat, you may recline in a chair or use a sofa. Be comfortable, warm, and allow yourself to have what you need.

Generally yes. However, there maybe times or circumstances when this type of course isn’t suitable for you, such as a recent bereavement or trauma or a mental health condition.  Please get in touch if you’re not sure, I’m here to help.
